The Society of Peculiar Knitwearers are an interesting bunch. They comprise a collection of dolls made by me that all have a unique story. For example, The Lady who wore her Heart on her Sleeve is dressed in red and pink and purple and magenta she is heavily adorned and of course she wears a heart on her sleeve.( Although she has apparently lost it recently!).

 

 

Other members of the society may be found residing in a lovely little gallery in Saltaire called Art Parade.

 The Society includes images and stories about women, their different roles and struggles, these sometimes are shown through paintings, collage and assemblages. 

 

Primarily the Society is a vehicle for fun, art, and celebration of all the diversity in women's colourful and valuable lives.
